View A, a mid-calf bias-cut skirt features three tiers at the bottom, each with raw edges.
The front is cut higher, sweeping elegantly to the longer back. This version can be constructed
in either a single layer or with sheer overlays. View B is an eight-gore flared skirt, with an
opaque underskirt and a draped overlay. The overlay has loops sewn into the seams, through which
cords or bias tubes have been threaded. The cords are pulled up to create a swag effect.

SUGGESTED FABRICS:
View A: Fabrics with drape, such as linen, mid-weight rayon; 3- or 4-ply silk crepe, gabardine (rayon or wool), wook crepe, polyester microfiber, silk noil, Tencel; also silk organza or other sheer fabric with body for a sheer overlayer.
View B: Underskirt: Silk duppoini or shantung; silk crepe, linen, wool crepe or gabardine; polyester with drape (nothing too stiff); silk noil, Tencel, mid-weight rayon.
Overlayer: Fabrics with drape, such as silk chiffon, knit mesh, silk charmeuse, rayon or silk georgette.
NOTIONS:
View A: Thread; 9" invisible zipper; optional - stay tape for waist or Petersham for interior waist facing (available from La Fred; please call 510-893-6811 or email to order).
View B: Thread; 9" invisible zipper; small amount of interfacing for waistband; 3/4" elastic for waistband — measure side back to side front seams at waist and multiply by two.
